In 2017, HAS HEART Took its HERO[series] project across the U.S. partnering a veteran with an artist in every state.
After several years of partnering veterans with designers locally in Grand Rapids, MI, [HAS HEART] was determined to create a greater impact throughout the US. [HAS HEART] was on the road from 2017-2019, taking its HERO[series] project concept across the country, partnering a veteran with a designer in every state.
Thus far, the project has reached 39 states, completed 41 projects, has worked with 50 veterans and 123 creatives, and has launched 15 designs. By 2025, [HAS HEART] hopes to visit the remaining 11 states.

50 States LICENSE PLATE DECALS
No cross-country road trip is complete without a collage of stickers, and neither is the “50 States: Veterans + Artists United” tour.
When we launched the “50 States” tour, Sticker Mule supported us by printing all fifty state decals, inspired by each state’s license plate colors. These decals now adorn the back of our Airstream trailer after each state project. Click on each decal to browse each state’s design and progress. Or click the link below to shop decals, shirt designs and more!

Ways You Can Support
Has Heart is a nonprofit organization
Make A Donation
Your support, in any amount, helps [HAS HEART] provide a small token of appreciation to project participants (Veteran, Designer, Photographer, Videographer, Writer) and cover minimal project costs and basic travel logistics.
Even a small donation, like a cup of coffee for a Veteran participant or lunch for the six-member project crew, goes a long way in helping [HAS HEART] share a Veteran’s story.
Bringing together Veterans, designers, photographers, and videographers is only made possible through the power of collaboration and partnership.
In addition to the numerous individuals that become a part of this journey and [HAS HEART] family, we are honored to partner with AIGA – the professional organization for design and their 70+ chapters located across the country.
The apparel partner for the “50 States: Veterans + Artists United” project is military heritage brand, Alpha Industries.
Since 1959, Alpha Industries has produced iconic military flight jackets and vests for D.O.D. contracts and has since become an international fashion brand. They will be working alongside [HAS HEART] throughout the duration of the tour to co-produce and distribute the Veterans’ designs and stories, which will be produced and printed in the USA.
The Schultz Family Foundation’s mission is to “Unlock America’s potential, one individual and one community at a time,” and [HAS HEART] couldn’t agree with that more.
Having funded two pilot projects (WA and OR) before launching the tour, the SFF have been early supporters since Day 01. [HAS HEART] recently received a second round grant for three additional state projects to impact more individuals and three more communities.
We are incredibly thankful for our growing list of donors, supporters, and partners.
We’ve made an ambitious commitment to impact more Veterans, engage more creatives, and reach more civilians through our “50 States: Veterans + Artists United” working tour. To make it happen, we’re searching for like-minded individuals, businesses, brands, and corporations that share our passion for Veterans and the creative arts.
